Traditional financial and accounting processes are being disrupted and the pressure is on for CFOs, finance leaders and their finance teams to drive new digitally enabled business models.
For leaders personally, this means having to rapidly build their digital competency. As trusted advisors to the business, their ability to contribute is greatly influenced by their understanding of digital transformation and the technologies and processes that underpin it.
In the lead up to Finance Innovation & Tech Fest an intense research process involving the broad finance community was conducted via a process known as the Circle of Customer Engagement, where both the challenges faced and opportunities perceived were identified and discussed.
This year’s research groups were conducted with over 60 Finance professionals, revealing stories of innovation, disruption and technology integration, and the trends and challenges being faced by Finance leaders across Australia and New Zealand.
Discussion focussed on how their organisations are using innovation and technology as an enabler to drive greater efficiency and competitive advantage. A research report is produced – it is a distilled representation of these discussions and provides detailed insights into the challenges and opportunities facing finance professionals and their organisations.
“Finance is a critical supporting function for any organisation. So as organisations are meeting the challenges of the digital age, it is vital that the finance function successfully navigates its own transformation path, and ensures it can deliver against the new expectations of the organisation it supports. For a Finance professional, this means expanding their own mindset and capabilities while making the right decisions regarding the tools and skillsets of the function they lead.”
