In a recent series of roundtable discussion groups, HR and IT professionals from across New Zealand shared their stories straight from the frontline of innovation and technology integration in HR strategy. This report distils these discussions to provide detailed insights into the challenges and opportunities facing HR practitioners in using technology to be a driver and enabler of organisational change.

The HR Innovation Landscape 2019

The digital workplace is truly disrupting all business. The nature of work, the workplace and the workforce are evolving at incredible speed. This brings change to how they work, where they work and brings new ways of learning. These are contributing to huge challenges with rapidly increasing requirements for people teams.

Successful people leaders will wear many hats. They will become accomplished story tellers adept at securing business support from every part of the executive team, including the HR teams and the employees themselves. These groups have difficult and different nuances and challenges to overcome.

Of the 85 HR and IT professionals we spoke to, 48% said that getting enough time and resources away from “business as usualâ€' was their biggest challenge in driving legal innovation within their organisations.
